The only blush palette you will ever need : Benefit Cheekathon

Hey Internet Friends,

I have a confession, an admittance if you will. Ive fallen in love. A special kind of love. Make up Love. I also have a secret for you my loyal readers, I have found the blush palette to end all blush palettes. I showed it you last week, in my London Haul but I tend to write blog posts for this site well in advance, I have actually had the Benefit Cheekathon for a whole month so its time for a little review. You ready?

DSC06595

Benefits new cheekathon palette is the dream team of blushes and bronzers combined in the most beautiful, value for money and special palette I have ever seen. And you probably like me have never heard of it before.
At the weekend I was at my local Benefit counter and the women working there hadn’t even heard of it. So I am going to tell you everything you need to know about why you should 100% buy this product.

Firstly lets start by explaining why its such good value for money.
One blush or bronzer box from Benefit is £23.50.
This palette is £44.50 and you get 5 blushes and bronzers.
Now I know what your thinking, but there not full size products?
But the amazing thing is they are!
For less than the price of two Box O Powders you can have 5?

YES! YES YOU CAN!

DSC06606

So why should you buy it?
The shades flatter pretty much any skin tone, I am deadly pale as you all know and I can easily wear every shade.
Lets have a shade breakdown shall we:
Dandelion is a sheer pink tone that makes for a pretty everyday blush, this doesnt have to much shimmer and is super wearable.
Hoola – you guys know this is my holy grail bronzer. The perfect Matte finish thats both build-able and subtle. Perfection.
Rockateur is a rose gold shimmer blush that gives the skin a real flush with insane colour payoff.
Dallas is a blush and bronzer combo that gives your face a flush of colour, this works incredibly well to give definition and warmth.
Coralista is a warm coral blush with a strong shimmer, perfect for the summertime.

DSC06621
From the wrist down – Coralita, Dallas, Rockateur, Holla and Dandelion.

The literal only downside to this palette is the fact that the packaging is absolute enormous. But its just as beautiful as it is big, with Benefit you could to expect beautiful and quality packaging and whilst I appreciate the massive mirror and the brush I will never use it doesnt feel as innovative as some of the other Benefit packaging.

But my faithful ladies and gents, its whats inside that counts!

DSC06611

The brushes I would pair with this palette is the Blush brush which is perfect for both bronzer and blush especially when trying to add definition, I use the expert face brush for popping a bit of blush on the apples of the cheeks and the powder brush for some real smooth blending.

These brushes are the perfect cheekathon palette.

I honestly give the Benefit cheekathon a solid 9/10! It only looses a point because of that annoying brush nobody uses!

Hope you guys enjoyed this post.

Whats your favourite blush shade and product? Let me know in the comments.

London Haul : Benefit, Lush & Libertys

Hey Internet Friends,

As promised here are the lovely goodies I picked up whilst in London. HAUL TIME!

DSC06526
Lets start with….

Lush Oxford Street

As you saw from my last post lush oxford street is a place of dreams but I had to show some self control! As I am moving to a new place soon that finally has a bath I decided it might be a smart idea to stock up on mainly bath products but as always with a visit to lush I had to get a little something extra too…

I decided to go for some oxford street exclusives and some everyday Lush addict staples.
I picked up:
Butterball Bath Bomb – So cute, so pure and so fresh!
Intergalactic Bath Bomb – because you just have too don’t you.
Two Bath Melts – so cute, so cheap and smell divine!
Hottie Massage Bar – Luxury in bar shaped, if you thought chocolate was your favourite thing shaped as a bar think again!
Cyanide Pill Bath Bomb – How can something that looks so pretty not be amazing?
Big Blue Bath Bomb – Sometimes bigger truly is better!

Then I went for a little nosey in Liberty’s…

Liberty of London is known for a lot of things but mostly for being incredibly luxuries, walking into that beautiful atrium of scarves that flows beautifully through cosmetics, chocolates and designer accessories how could you not feel transported into a simpler more beautiful time.

I know what your thinking, is that it? Well yes my loyal and brilliant readers that is it and let me tell you for why.
I received a sample of this lip moisturiser a while ago and I’ve been absolutely OBSESSED with finding it again ever since. Its amazing, its super nourishing and they sell it at Liberty’s.

Now this is where I went a tiny bit mental….

The Benefit Shop

If you come to this blog often then you know that Benefit is one of my brands, I am loyal to all my favourite brands but theres just something about the benefit products that really deserve my attention. The products, the packaging and the overall atmosphere of the brand. So when I found the benefit shop I just couldn’t resist.

The lovely lady at the Benefit shop gave me a bunch of free samples.

I bought the new Cheekathon palette that contains 5 blushes and bronzers all of which I love and I think are incredibly versatile. Beautifully packaged and with an amazing mirror.
I love the idea of having all my blushes and bronzers in one place so this product is perfect for me.

I also grabbed the Porefessional Pore away kit, I feel I owe porefessionl another shot.
So lets see how I get on with this.

Hope you guys enjoyed this Haul post.

What products have you picked up recently that you’re super happy with?

What I got for my Birthday 2016

Hey Internet Friends,

It was my birthday a few weeks ago and I wanted to share with you lovely people some of the things what I was gifted from my family and fiancé.

Lets get started shall we?

DSC06460Lets kick this off with the big present shall we?

My parents lovingly gifted me with a new toy. If you know me then you know I LOVE new technology.
I was given the 38mm Apple Watch with the woven strap.
I absolutely love my apple watch, I cant remember how I ever lived before it.
If you have an iPhone and you love it then I 100% guarantee you will love this too.

DSC06442DSC06453

The new coloured version of the Real Techniques Core Collection.
You guys have seen my collection so you know that I already have them but I was desperate to get them in the new colour and for the slightly larger contour brush.
Absolutely DIVINE.

DSC06462DSC06465

Victoria’s Secret Joggers.
I already have a pair of these in grey with different leg details and there the most comfortable things on this entire planet so imagine how unbelievably happy I was to receive these. I love these in the white colour with the pink detail and the cuff at the legs mean that they don’t trail on the floor seen as I am unbelievably short.

DSC06477

Now this right here is a little game changer, its a set containing the Estee Lauder double wear eyeliner, little black primer and the Sumptuous Extreme Mascara.
Ive never used an eyelash primer before but let me tell you, it makes one hell of a difference.
This stuff really packs a punch!

Hope you guys like looking at what I got for my birthday.

Whats your dream Birthday Gift?

LIFE UPDATE: Where have I been?

Hey Internet Friends,

Its been a crazy insane month. Absolutely ridiculous actually. Im in over my head.

I can give you no excuse as to why I haven’t been blogging, it deeply saddens me to not be writing to you every week but I did warn you this may happen.

This month I’ve taken on 3 of the most stressful things you’ll ever do in your life. Start your career, buy a home and plan a wedding. Am I insane? Probably a little bit yes.

These are all super exciting things and honestly I couldn’t be happier but life is a little hectic at the moment. So here are the things I’ve done this month that I think you should know about. Ready?

  1. Started my new job
This job isn’t just a ‘job’, its the beginning of my career. Its a job using my degree and in the UK thats a rare thing at the moment, a lot of university graduates really struggle to get a job in their field and I’m incredibly proud of myself for managing it.
Now I just have to keep it…
  2. I had an offer excepted on a new home
I like many people my age am renting an apartment in the city from a private landlord but that annoys me because this isn’t helping set me up for my future.
So I have taken the plunge into being a homeowner with the help of my parents, I’m moving out of the city which isn’t as convenient and definitely doesn’t have enough decent Thai places. Its very early days and a million things could go wrong, but I’ve got a good feeling about it. Its a start and its a home and thats whats important.
  3. I had my 23rd Birthday and it was amazing! I plan on doing a full post on what I got for my birthday as us blogger types do, but I spent the day with Jay and saw all my family throughout the week which in this mental time was very welcome.
  4. I bought my wedding dress. I say my wedding dress instead of ‘a wedding dress’ because strictly speaking it isnt an actual wedding dress. It wasn’t from a bridal shop and it isnt white but its casual, relaxed and very very me. I wish I could show you and share it with you but unfortunately you have to keep some things a little bit secret!
  5. I’m off to london next weekend which although hasn’t actually happened yet I am very excited. Expect a full post dedicated to it! My mums running the marathon but Im there for an extra two days so I plan on doing lots of shopping – especially at the Lush Oxford Street Store! And my new pad actually has a bath so that means BATHBOMBS

I hope you guys feel a little bit more up to date and I can get back to posting more regularly.

Thanks for understanding.

Current Favourites!

Hey Internet Friends,

WHERE HAVE I BEEN?! Well you beautiful people, as you know if your a loyal reader of this blog Ive started a new job recently and its been a lot more than I bargained for! I am so busy! I love blogging and I love all of you so hopefully things can calm down soon, I am thinking of changing my post day to Sunday so its a bit easier, how would you feel about that?

Today I want to do a quick catch up with all of you and talk about some of the things I have been LOVING recently. Everything from room fragrance to teeth whitening.
You ready?

DSC06316Wax Melts!
Have you guys tried these yet? Absolutely amazing. Imagine your favourite yankee candle just ten times cheaper and much safer!
I absolutely love candles but Im always scared to leave them on overnight or for a really long time. With this amazing electric wax melter you can burn your favourite scent safely and for so much longer.
The burner itself is beautiful ceramic with intricate detail so it doesn’t look out of place in my living room.
The Yankee Wax Melts are also only £1 and last for a few days burning continuously.
Brilliant product, if you haven’t got one already, what are you waiting for?!

DSC06327

Yes to Body Wash!
Amazing amazing amazing!
They come in a variety of different scents but these two are my favourites.
These products are super kind to the skin and leave your entire body feeling silky smooth and squeaky clean.
I don’t know about you, but I like a lot of soap and foam in my body wash and these natural products really pack a punch when it comes to the amount of bubbles. Absolutely divine!
And the smell, where do I even start with the smell! Amazingly luxurious and smell like little soapy smoothies.

DSC06330.jpg

My love for Mac has never been a quiet affair, I practically scream it from the rooftops most of the time but over the past months the drugstore has really been calling out to me.
Unfortunately with my new job where Im out of the house for unto 11 hours a day the drugstore foundation and lipsticks were just not doing the trick, they were leaving my skin patchy and sad.

The Mac Pro Longwear is absolutely brilliant for a long day and looks just as good in the 11th hour then it did in the first especially when you combine it with the Mac Studio Fix powder. The photo below is after 9 hours of wear, pretty impressive right?

I am also loving the Mac lipstick in MEHR MATTE.
Its the perfect shade for the office and it lasts for a super long time, only really coming off when you eat.
Its not an overpowering shade and really would complement any skin tone.

DSC06344

DSC06353

Using Charcoal to whiten teeth.
Now hear me out! I know what your thinking, Charcoals black.
And your right charcoal is black but it does amazing things to remove toxins and staining.
I just take one of the little capsules, mix it with my toothpaste and use it on my teeth.
Easy Peasy!
I then rinse with 1 part Hydrogen Peroxide 6% and 4 parts water.

If you want to hear more about charcoal teeth whitening let me know and I’ll do a full post on it?

Hope you guys enjoyed this current favourites post,

As always leave me links to posts you think I’ll like.

New Job Haul

Hey Internet Friends,

Where have I been?! Well let me tell you my lovely lot, Ive been getting myself a new job! Its in the area that I studied my degree so Im really excited about the opportunity, but I had a bit of a problem, the job Ive had for the past three years has required me to wear a uniform so I needed to get a few more pieces for my wardrobe and other bits and bobs to make me look like an actual grown up. Ive gone with pieces that I can team up with things I already have to look that extra bit nicer!

title

I still have a few more bits and bobs of stationary to get but this is the main bulk of it. I hope this job turns out to be what Im after because its cost me some major £££!

Lets Start with the clothes…

Clothes

I also picked up some black trousers but you all know what black trousers look like….
Oh and a black dress!

I really wanted to do you a cute look book for this post but the weather in Sheffield where I live is absolutely horrendous! And as much as I love all of you Im not willing to stand in the rain for you.

The three tops are from New Look and are very reasonably priced.
All under £30 which is a real bargain for the quality of the pieces.
The coat is a military style fitted coat from Wallis and is absolutely stunning, the lining is satin and it really feels special. This is my favourite pieces that Ive bought recently.

The Shoes…

shoesThe shoes on the left are a beautiful suede fabric with a wooden heel and surprisingly they are very comfortable so hopefully I can cope with wearing them all day. Im usually a Vans and converse kinda girl…
The flats just a more comfortable option for when my feet finally give in and lets be honest on really busy days they might, I may even leave them in office so Ive got my flat ‘security blanket’ shoes on hand.

The Organiser….

organiser

This Organiser is from Paperchase and I’ve never had a proper organiser before so I feel incredibly responsible.
You buy the organiser with a few files already inside but I chose to buy the additional sections of the cute sticky notes, agenda, to do and shopping sections.
I am honestly really happy with this buy and feel it was a real bargain with 50% off from £22 at £11.

And now for the fun stuff, the new Make Up….

DSC06312

New Mac Lipsticks are my favourite new make up things.
This shade is Mehr in the Matte finish and it is beautiful!
I think we shall talk about that in more detail soon if you’d like?

I also grabbed a new Mac Ebony eyeliner because these are the most pigmented long wearing eyeliners EVER and are perfect for tight lining.

The Concealer is my favourite for dark under eye circles which will help with all the eye bags I’m going to have from working all these hours! Its got excellent coverage but if your a BBlogger you probably know that already because EVERYBODY loves it.

The Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter are another little mega star in the bloggersphere recently, I’ve seen a lot of you going crazy about these so I wanted to see what all the fuss is about and I totally get it. Beautiful subtle shine and perfect for any skin tone, what more do you need!

Hope you guys enjoyed this little post about my new job bits and bobs.

Any tips for my first day? They’d be much appreciated!

February Haul : High Street & Drugstore.

Hey Internet Friends,

Guess who went shopping for a bunch of stuff they don’t really need but really wanted? ME! I was reasonably well behaved though and only stuck to drug store and high street shops. Points for trying right?

title

Ohhh look at the goodies!
Lets break this down into manageable chunks shall we?

The Palettes
DSC05865
Who doesn’t love a good palette?
On the left is the new Soap & Glory Perfect Ten eyeshadow palette.
Soap & Glory have brought out a few of these perfect ten palettes over the years all with different undertones (a bit like another popular palette range wouldn’t you say?)
This one is super wearable, super affordable and down right beautiful.
It will make a strong edition to my collection.

On the right is the Make Up Revolution Cover & Conceal Palette.
Make Up Revolution are really making waves in the beauty community at the moment as there super affordable and truly great products.
This palette cost me £6, contains 8 different concealer shades and is in the shade Light.

The Tricks of the trade
DSC05871
On the left is the Bleach London Reincarnation Mask, this is a deep treatment mask for dyed and damaged hair. Its got some amazing reviews so I thought I give it a go.

The middle is a new eyelash curler, I refuse to spend a lot of money on these because like most girls loose bobby pins and hair ties I loose eyelash curlers like you wouldn’t believe.
Really cant explain why? Maybe theres an eyelash monster under my bed.

On the Right is the Real Techniques Brush cleansing palette, this is the purchase I am most excited about because I absolutely love all the RT products I own and I’m sure this won’t be an exception! I cant wait to try it and let you know how I get on.

Make Up bits and bobs
DSC05876
Top Left is my favourite pressed powder by Rimmel. Perfectly Translucent and brilliant staying power. Really inexpensive too.

Middle Right is a clear brow gel that if I’m being completely honest, I’m a little nervous about trying. I don’t know why put the idea of a gel for your eyebrows just seems a little bit odd.

Bottom Left is one of the Rimmel Magnif’eyes, this is a new product to me but seems to be everything I’ve been looking for. A cream eyeshadow base with a complimentary liner on the other side. Almost like an eye make up look in a stick.
The shade is Queens of the Bronzed Age.

Hope you guys enjoyed this little Haul,

Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried any of these products and what you think?

Also, would you like to hear more about any of these in detail?

Whats on my iPhone?

Hey Internet Friends,

Ive only gone and got myself a new iPhone! So I thought seen as its all Ive been obsessed with all week we could have a little whats on my iPhone post.

title

The iPhone Itself

iphonespecs
I went for the iPhone 6 in space grey in the 16GB model, this has a 4.7 Retina Display with a stunning 8MP camera and fingerprint identity technology.

The case that Im currently using is designed by Skinny Dip for urban outfitters.
I think the cute pink flamingos work well on the Space Grey.

The Home Screens

homescreen

For my lock screen I used a photo collage featuring most of my favourite people, this really does cheer me up overtime I see it and its nice to have them there all the time.
The actual home screen is clean and simple with all the apps I need right on the first screen, I keep a selection of apps organised in different folders that Im going to talk you through.

Some of my favourite apps on the home screen are social media apps, obviously wordpress so I can keep up with you lovely lot and my Virgin TV anywhere so I can never miss a TV show.

Two of the features I love about the iPhone 6 is the unique screen control that allows you to move the screen down by double tapping the home button (because my hands are too tiny for the larger display) and the brilliant apple pay feature.
If you don’t get an iPhone for any other reason, get it for the apple pay. Its honestly changed my life!

Photography Folder
photography
This where I keep everything for editing and uploading photos.
I have my trusty instagram app, the remote control for my Sony Alpha 500 and a few favourite editing apps.

My favourite app from the bunch is Over, it allows you to edit photographs to an outstanding quality and comes with loads of typographic options and cool pieces or artwork as you can see.

Finance & Shopping
shopingnfinance

I dont do a lot of shopping on my phone so this folder is probably labelled wrong, maybe I should change it to something more appropriate like lifestyle or something?

This is where I keep things like my online banking app, a few shopping apps and my trusty trusty Uber App.
I feel like everybody uses uber but if you don’t heres the lowdown.
Uber is the smartest way to get around. One tap and a car comes directly to you. Your driver knows exactly where to go. And payment is completely cashless.
Its basically a cheap and convenient way to get your taxi’s, you simply tell the app where you want to go, your driver shows up and you can track your ride on the app and then you pay cashless either via paypal or apple pay.
If your new to uber and want a free ride on me use the code hollym684

Puzzles
puzzle

Im not much of a gamer, I pretty much can only manage Guitar Hero and thats my lot.
But cute little iPhone puzzle games really do get me.
The game I am currently absolutely obsessed with is called Two Dots and the idea is to get rid of as many dots as possible by connecting them horizontally or vertically. Like a modern day game of squares.
The thing I like most about this little game aside from its addictive nature is the simple and clean design. I think it really works well and doesn’t confuse and overwhelm your brain.

Health
health
Its no secret that the new iPhones have some brilliant health features featuring an in built pedometer and lots of other gadgets to get you thinking about your health.
My favourite app at the moment is the Calm app, I struggle a lot with sleeping and always have done. The app includes a bunch of different scenes and meditation techniques to help you chill out.
The company also sell a supporting book that goes along with App that I plan to buy as soon as possible.

Hope you guys enjoyed this Whats on my iPhone post,

Whats your favourite apps that I should know about?

As always, leave me links to any posts you think I’ll like in the comments.
